Rub the product between your hands and apply on soaking wet hair.

Air dry or diffuse. Avoid touching your hair excessively while drying as this will create frizz. Once completely dry, scrunch to 'break the light cast' using an oil or serum to make your hair soft and bouncy.

Formula Changed

"I had used the orange label Soufflé for years and loved the product. I had recently purchased the rebranded blue label product and was greatly disappointed that Curlsmith changed the formula even though it was stated they had not. The second I opened the jar, I immediately noticed the texture was different and more runny/watery. So much so that I stirred it up thinking the liquid had risen to the top but it did not help. Next came the performance. I scrunched it into soaking wet hair and the gel started foaming in my hands. It has never done that before. I used to get a hard cast with the orange label Soufflé with results that lasted. But I got a very soft cast with the blue label version and feels gritty. My waves are falling flat as I sit here writing this and don’t anticipate my results lasting. With the orange label soufflé being one of the best sellers with so many 5 star reviews, I am really surprised on the business decision to change the formula. I will need to look for another company’s gel to use. So disappointed. Bring back the original formula please."

Not the same

"The Curl Smith Curl Defining Styling Souffle is not the same. I have gray hair and as anyone with gray hair knows it can have a mind of its own and sometimes just downright disrespectful. I still have a jar (orange label) and it holds my curls so well, I can get at least 5-7 days. I bought a 16oz bottle thinking it would work the same and it does not. I can't get past day 2 without my gray hairs and curls looking dry and frizzy. I on the hunt for new product for this disrespectful gray hair. (and I love my gray hair)"

New formula doesn’t work

"I’ve been using this gel for years and it gave me an amazing cast and curls that would last up to seven days. With the new formula there is no cast in, it just feels sticky and my curls don’t even last a whole day. I am so disappointed and upset with the company and how they change this product. I will have to start my search over and will no longer purchase from Curlsmith."

Texture is not the same

"Texture is a lot lighter. Its not the same as it used to be. My hair comes out dry and frizzy now even when I am adding more gel. I never needed another product. It wasnt like that when it was in the orange label. Now its blue. Looking else where for a long lasting styling product."

Great product

"I recently started using Curlsmith after years of trial and error with other brands and struggling to maintain my curls. I was pleasantly surprised by several other Curlsmith products - my hair felt smooth and clean, so I thought I’d try a styling product. I struggle with texture sensitivity so I’ve often found difficultly with styling products, but this one is nice. It keeps my curls looking bouncy, and I’m looking forward to trying others as I go. Why did you change it!!!

"Last time I bought the soufflé I loved it so much that I bought a large bottle and it has lasted a good while. Now I bought more to replace my used up bottle and you have changed the formula!! What gives? Why would you change the formula for something that had so many good reviews? It doesn’t have the definition and hold like before! This is gonna have to be returned and now I will have to be hunting for something to replace it. Such a disappointment 😕"

What is the difference between the in shower fixer and the Souffle? Also, can I shower, then use the air dy cream and then apply the in shower fixer? Or better to do that and apply fley jelly or souffle? Thanks

The In-Shower Style Fixer is our strongest hold gel designed to lock in definition and keep frizz at bay, while the Curl Defining Styling Soufflé offers strong hold with added moisture for softer, bouncier curls. You can definitely apply the Weightless Air Dry Cream after showering, then layer with either the In-Shower Style Fixer, Hydro Style Flexi Jelly, or Soufflé depending on the level of hold and finish you prefer. It really comes down to whether you want a crunch-free soft hold (Flexi Jelly), moisture and definition (Soufflé), or maximum long-lasting hold (In-Shower Style Fixer). What is correct level hold…..jumbo says level 5, 8 oz bottle says level 8 hold.

Why does the 16oz say an “8” level hold, while the 8oz says “5” level hold? I want to reorder, how confused on which is correct level hold….

Has the scent changed for this product? i just opened a new container and it sort of smells like cologne and is pretty strong, compared to the more mild & slightly fruity scent of my last couple of bottles. i've been a long term user, so it sort of surprised me.
